Barrett on Display

This weekend was family weekend at ASU,and as an Barrett Honors College student, I was able to take place in an event called Barrett on Display. This event is meant to showcase the work of Barrett students, and I was one of several artists who contributed.

The pieces I chose to display are all works that I did last year in my college classes. They all have a somewhat space theme, which is becoming a bit of an artistic obsession I guess. Here are a few photos from that morning.

And here's my official-looking name tag for the event:

I think that my display turned out pretty awesome. I had a great location and I think I came up with a good setup for my artwork. Because most of these pieces are small, I bought some tabletop easels at Walmart for $0.95 each as well as a nicer mini wooden easel that I think was a good investment. ASU provided me with the table, the largest easel, and that snazzy Barrett tablecloth.

I received a lot of nice compliments from Barrett faculty, students, and parents. My parents and grandmother came to the event and they were excited to see my work on display. This was my first time displaying my art since high school so it was a good introduction into the world of exhibiting to the public.
